How to make a stegosaurus stuffie

I saw this on Pinterest and I thought it would make a great quick sew project.

I drew a dinosaur shape onto cardboard and then cut out 2 of the shape on folded over fabric. This is because they have to have the pattern facing outwards on both sides. I then cut out 5cm strips of ribbon in varying widths.

You then need to pin the pieces of ribbon facing downwards on the right side of the fabric so it will be trapped in when you sew round the edge.

Once the pins are secure place the other piece on top right sides together. You will need to pin the ribbons again on the outside so that they aren’t trapped inside. Trim off ends if you need to.

Sew around the edge with a 1cm se allowance and leave a gap between the legs. Then turn inside out using a pencil for the head and tail.

Then stuff! Once you have stuffed it then you can handstitch the hole using ladder stitch. As the head and tail are small areas use tiny bits of stuffing and poke them in with a pencil.

Happy sewing! 🙂
