How to sew a toilet roll holder

This easy-sew project makes a nice bathroom accessory or gift for a house proud friend! It can also be finished in under an hour!

You will need:

Step one

Use the toilet roll to measure out a rectangular pattern piece and add a 1cm seam allowance around the edge.

Cut out a rectangle from the lining and the outer fabric. The inner wadding needs to be 1cm smaller than the outer pieces. Cut out 4 fabric ties to attach the toilet roll to the toilet roll holder.

Step two

Put the outer and inner fabric with right sides together. Place the ties inside and pin them so they get caught in.

Make sure they are facing inwards. Leave one of the short sides open.

Step three

Cut off the corners and put the wadding in through the open end.

Step four

Turn the open edges under and iron them 1cm under. Pin the ties in place.


Step five

Sew the ends together.

Step six

Sew the two edges together to make a circular tube.

Et voilĂ ! Put your toilet roll inside and attach it to your toilet roll holder.
