Looking Forward to the End of Lockdown Tag

I’ve been tagged by Jupiter from Life with Jupiter and Dann to take part in this end of lockdown tag! As the theme is lockdown, I’ll be answering questions all about lockdown and what it has meant to me one year on. Thanks Jupiter!

How do you feel, generally, about the end of lockdown?

I feel good about the end of lockdown (whenever that will officially be!). I’m lucky because I got to move house between lockdowns so I’ve been really busy. I’m also a key worker so I haven’t had many days off, plus I have multiple jobs. The end of lockdown will be a bit of break that so many people need!

What are you most excited for?

I’m most excited for travel and being able to stay somewhere else! I don’t have anything booked in but I’ve been enjoying exploring the UK and my local area. It will be really special to go abroad again but it won’t be until next year now as I’m having a baby.

Have you gone out to any restaurants/places that have started opening up? How was your experience?

Yes, I’ve been to a couple of restaurants which has been amazing in the good weather! I’ve mainly been exploring around North Manchester in the sunshine and even drove to the Lake District, it’s so beautiful up there!

What is something you’ve done in lockdown that you’ve really enjoyed?

I really enjoyed making scrubs for NHS workers at the beginning of lockdown. I did quite a lot of creative things, as well as finally writing up all my travel stories from Asia and improving my blog! I’m also in the process of doing up our new house.

If you have been working from home, are you excited to get back to your office?

I have been working from home so I miss my friends and colleagues so much! I’ve been really busy at home but you can’t beat the atmosphere of being with people you really like and I work with loads of them! There are some annoying things about the office that I definitely don’t miss though and I have got more done without having to commute.

What is something that you are still not risking due to lockdown?

I’m not risking going abroad as the guidance changes all the time! I’ve had my first vaccination now but I’m still cautious about social distancing and being wary of other people who may not be vaccinated yet.

Do you feel you have grown as a person during lockdown?

l feel like I’m less anxious in a lot of ways, I think because I had so much more time to do things that I wouldn’t be able to do otherwise. I’ve also had more time to write and think of ideas which is really important to me, something I was too exhausted to do before. Because I moved house and got pregnant, so I’ll always be grateful for that. Distracting myself has been what has got me through this pandemic.
