How to create and style a beautiful bracelet stack

We all know that it’s hard to stop at one bracelet, so the question is what styles to go for and how to layer them? Never fear because this quick guide will give you all the stacking and styling tips that you need in no time.

All of these pieces are from Daisy London, an ethical jewellery brand I love because they make so many of their pieces out of recycled material and for each item ordered, they remove the equivalent of 10 plastic bottles out of the ocean. Something that is becoming clearer by the day is that sustainability and ethical intentions should be a vital part of any brand, especially when it comes to jewellery.

Here I will style five bracelets, a stacked linked chain, a round snake chain, a howlite healing stone bobble bracelet, a treasures sunburst chain and a trio chain bracelet. I love these pieces because they are all classic styles with a modern twist which brings them bang up to date. They’re all sterling silver but the same rules can apply to gold pieces.

A classic way to style bracelets is to pair a statement piece with a more delicate chain. If a chain seems too simple, choose a style with added beads like this trio chain bracelet to add more interest to your wrist stack.

That doesn’t mean that you should be afraid to pair contrasting pieces together, as this can also work well as a way to style your pieces while thinking outside the box! Sometimes putting patterned pieces together is a fabulous way to break the rules while still showing that you understand the rules.

A snake chain is a great example of a piece that it can be paired with anything and while it is a statement on its own, it also serves as a neutral when coupled with any other piece. Here I paired it with a linked chain and a dainty engraved piece featuring sunbursts.

Other bracelets which can be used as a ‘neutral’ piece and stacked with more expressive jewellery are plain bangles or most thin chains, like a figaro for example.

A bracelet which catches the light can be a great way to draw attention to your favourite jewellery pieces, especially if worn with a ring that you love on the same hand.

A gemstone piece – like this howlite healing stone bracelet – always works well as statement jewellery as you can then style your other accessories around it. One tip that I have is to choose a double-sided gem so that even if it turns around, admirers will still be able to see your piece. I’ve paired it here with the slim trio chain.

When buying gemstone jewellery, remember to pick a colour which matches your wardrobe, as shades of red or pink (for example) can clash with similar clothing colours.

If you do want to show off your bracelets, think about what kind of sleeve you’re going to wear. For a flowy sleeve, make sure your bracelet is slightly looser and has charms or stones which will still be seen. If it is a puff sleeve or shirt with cuffs then tighter bracelets with a design which sits flush against the skin will be constantly on display without being covered up by your top.

In terms of outerwear, a shorter jacket or turned-up sleeve will help you to show off your chosen pieces, especially if your coat is a part of your outfit or if you’re somewhere cold where you won’t get many opportunities to lose your top layer.

On a practical note, make sure to have a small box or bag to keep them in once you get home from an event so they don’t get lost, damaged or dirty before the next time you wear them!

The main thing to remember when styling any jewellery is that confidence is what helps pull off any look which you haven’t tried before or a deliberately clashing set.
